Dear Neighbors
For the past week or so we have experienced a “bonanza” of prescribed burns. We have had striking views of the Peaks, Upper Beaver Creek and Mint East of Mormon Lake fires. These were planned. Please be prepared for any unexpected fires by having your bugout list and bags prepared. Right now 58% of Arizona is under exceptional drought conditions.
On a more pleasant note, our late spring/early summer weather is beautiful in the mornings and evenings and nice in the shade at other times. Good weather in which to relax and appreciate nature.
This Saturday has two important events for us, the Saturday Drive-thru Food Bank at Beaver Creek School and the Dump the Drugs opportunity is back at the Adult Center. The details are below.

. . . . . the calendar crew
Saturday, 5/8–Free Drive-thru Food Boxes are available at Beaver Creek School from 7:45 to 9 AM. Food is always available the second Saturday of each month for distribution to anyone in zip code 86335. Again, this month food boxes will be loaded in your vehicle when driven by the cafetorium at the front of the school. You are welcome to pick up for others. but must bring a handwritten note from them.
Saturday, 5/8—Dump the Drugs is back at the Beaver Creek Adult Center from 10 AM to Noon.  This event gives an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medication (including ones for pets).  Please drop medications off at the Beaver Creek Adult Center (near Attitudez on Maines), 4250 E. Zuni Way in Lake Montezuma. The event is sponsored by the BC Community Action Team, YC Sheriff’s Office and MATFORCE. Jeannette Estes is our local contact at 928-567-5421 for more information. (See flyer below)
